The Bust

Awake I lay
I hear the guns go off
The situation so fray
As the bullets begin to spray

Awake I lay
Lost in the sound of sirens
Only at the beginning of the day
Stuck in my home I must stay

Awake I lay
Chaos outside my home
The gunshots bray
A lone bullet gone astray

Awake I lay
A sound like a whip
For my safety I pray
But with my life; I pay

  1. I really enjoyed this! I feel the panic, the paranoia through your words. I have insomnia quite often and I get so frustrated that I sometimes hear things which would sound less sinister in the light...
